Tomasz Gnyp, lives in Gdynia, Poland where he leads his own software development and IT consulting company. His experience with computer technology started as a hobby in the ‘80s.
By 1990-91 he was very active in Polish programmers’ user groups and special interest groups, and refined his programming skills by writing a number of proof of concept and demonstration programs, often participating in programming contests, and involving advanced programming techniques like: low-level hardware programming, graphics processing and digital sound processing. In 1991 he designed and developed his first commercial program – an employee management system for METALCOOP.
Later, in 1993, he authored several articles for BAJTEK, the leading Polish computer magazine of that time, including a series about the Atari Computer hardware, a series about programming the Motorola 68000 processor, and other single theme articles. Growing interest in commercial PC applications on the marked induced Tomasz Gnyp to found his own company at the end of 1994.
HIT Enterprises was founded with no capital except one PC of its owner. At the begining Tomasz was the only employee in the company. During the day he studied computer science on Gdansk University of Technology and in the evening he was developing small applications for local customers. Unfortunately the first couple of years didn't provide enough income for this young entrepreneur. In 1997 he sterted a full time job in one of the biggest Polish software companies. For next one and half years, Tomasz Gnyp was gaining there an experience in team working on the large scale IT projects and was expanding his contacts and knowledge of the IT market. The turning point in HIT Enterprises history was signing a contract with Swedish companies Actiprise and Tendon Consulting Group. Since then, Tomasz Gnyp is full time committed to managing his company. Tomasz Gnyp studied at the Technical High School of Communication in Gdansk, Gdansk University of Technology, Public Economic College in Gdansk (bechelors degree in management, thesis: " Tele-working as a alternate form of employment.") and University of Gdansk (masters degree in foreign trade, thesis: " IT Outsourcing as a service of software company."). Tomasz also completed ‘Interbase programming’ course organized by Borland Poland and ‘Network and Database programming in JAVA’ organized by ComArch. |
